Fun Easter Activities For Families to Enjoy!
One of the best Easter activities for families is making preparations for the big day!
Prior to Easter Sunday, our family prepares for Easter in a variety of ways with decorations and meal planning.
The Saturday before Easter, we boil dozens of eggs to dye and decorate. Adults, teens and kids of all ages love dying and decorating hard boiled eggs for Easter baskets.
Dying eggs is a fun Easter activity many families enjoy together. Adding funny stickers and silly pictures can be really entertaining for small children.
Other fun decorating Easter activities our family enjoys is making colorful eggs, chicks and bunnies out of construction paper or empty toilet paper rolls. It’s a perfect opportunity for children to decorate with paints, markers, glitter, google eggs, etc.
Allowing kids to be as creative as possible, opens their mind to many ideas and beautiful creations!
There are so many fun decorating ideas for Easter. Use your imagination and get your kids involved. Give your kids art supplies and watch them express their creativity. You’ll be amazed with the finished product!!
Easter Egg Hunt: Easter Activities for Families
One of the best Easter activities for families is an egg hunt. On Easter morning, our family looks forward to our multiple egg hunts.
Traditionally we have two eggs hunts; one in the house with plastic eggs filled with candy and another outside with hard-boiled decorated eggs.
After the family checks out their Easter basket goodies, we begin the indoor hunt for the plastic filled eggs. As a competitive family, the family member to find the most eggs “wins”.
Typically, there is not really anything to “win” other than bragging rights for finding the most plastic eggs! Haha!!
Our breakfast generally consists of cinnamon rolls, bagels and fruit buffet style while continually nibbling from Easter baskets. Our family normally does not sit down for formal meals on holidays.
We prefer to leave food ready and available for family and visitors throughout the day. This allows us more time to enjoy each other’s company!
