Raising children can be challenging under any circumstances. Raising grandchildren can bring an entirely different set of questions, emotions, responsibilities, and unexpected challenges.

I’m MomMom—a mother of five, grandmother of six, and someone who knows firsthand what it’s like when life takes an unexpected turn and grandchildren become part of your everyday parenting journey.

RaisingGrandkids.com was created to provide real-life advice, practical information, encouragement, and helpful resources for parents and grandparents raising children. Here you’ll find support for parenting, education and school challenges, autism and ADHD, child development, the tween and teen years, custody and visitation, family life, self-care, and so much more.

Although my own experiences began in the United States, the challenges of raising children aren’t limited to one country. Families around the world face many of the same questions and struggles. That’s why RaisingGrandkids.com is an online resource for parents and grandparents raising children wherever they live.

Whether you’re looking for an answer to a difficult parenting question, trying to navigate school or behavioral challenges, searching for a helpful resource, or simply need the reassurance that you’re not alone, I hope you’ll find something here that helps.

REParenting

You as a grandparent are now in the REparenting category. This means, you are parenting again! See THE JOYS AND EXHAUSTION OF PARENTING GRANDCHILDREN.

But, keep in mind, as you are REparenting, you are now older, wiser, and generally more patient. However, you may not be physically, emotionally or economically prepared to raise kids again.

You also may not be knowledgeable enough or comfortable enough to raise your grandkids in the new age of technology.

From my family to yours, welcome to RaisingGrandkids.com.
